Mountain Biking:

Trails range from beginner to advanced, narrow single track to wide abandoned forest roads. Try heli-mountain biking where your helicopter whisks you to the high country and you ride delightful mountain bike trails back down to the valleys below.
May to October.
Maximum 12 pax/guide.

Wildlife Study

The Rockies are home to some of the best wildlife study opportunities on the continent. We offer widlife ecology trips with wildlife researchers and naturalists that give you a deeper appreciation of the animal's niche, habitat and lifestyle. You also learn about the challenges facing the species and how we can help ensure their survival. Search for radio-collared animals using the researchers' radio tracking equipment. Do your own search for a hidden collar. Visit a site where wolves recently killed an animal. Grizzlies, wolves, elk, cougars, mountain goats and bighorn sheep all call the Rockies home. We offer separate interpretive programs with researchers and naturalists for each of these. We, of course, cannot guarantee a viewing opportunity, but at certain times of year, elk and bighorn sheep are quite easy to observe. It is, however, rare to see grizzlies, wolves and cougars.
Year Round, Max 10 pax/guide.

Bird Watching Excursions:

For the bird watching enthusiast to the casual dabbler. Your naturalist guide will take you to spots where you can watch all manner of song birds, birds of prey or water fowl. Few places on earth support the number and variety of raptors that the Southern Alberta Plains do in the summertime. Discover kestrels, golden eagles, burrowing owls, great horned owls, prairie falcons and the rare ferruginous hawk. Bring your camera and field guide and prepare to make check marks in it. Early morning and late day are the best viewing times.
Year round.
Maximum 12 pax/guide.

Summertime Glacier Walks:

Walking on snow and ice in the summer time is an unusual experience. Learn about glacier travel and geology from your expert guide who will become your teacher and partner as you discover safety techniques about crevasses and avalanches. Realize the basics of glacier economics and experience how ice has shaped the landscape by noticing the many signs of glaciation in the Rockies. Choose to trek with the assistance of ropes and crampons or ski your way along these ancient ice passages.

There are many peaks that can be climbed without any technical climbing equipment or experience. They afford the same spectacular views, as the more technical peaks, but with less effort. Many who never thought they would be able to do something like this are amazed by their success. A wonderful confidence booster!

This can take place in a variety of areas including mountains, foothills and boreal forests.
