Our People
These are the people that make it happen for you. They are an eclectic
bunch with amazing talents in many different fields.
Trent Schumann, B.Sc.
Trent is the owner of Mountain Quest. He left a career in
corporate computer and change management consulting to pursue his dream of helping
people and companies achieve their full potential. His time
in large corporations gives him an "insider's" ability
to relate to the challenges faced by companies and the work
teams that make them successful. He is the "idea guy"
behind our innovative programs. Hear
a recent radio interview featuring Trent.
Corey
Wood
Corey has been facilitating team leadership challenges since
1988. His facilitation experience ranges from young offenders to corporate executives, bringing them to realize
their own personal road-blocks and potentials through experiential education.
Corey also injects a lot of fun into everything
he does and often scans television programs such as “Amazing Race"
and "Survivor” for new ideas. (Some clients even say he bears
a strange resemblance to Survivor host Jeff Probst!)
Keith
Hanna, MEDes.
Keith's specialty is in working with high-performance sales teams. His wry sense
of humor and keen insight into people are what make him
so effective. Keith holds a Master’s Degree
in Environmental Design specializing in industrial design and new venture
development and has over 15 years of experience in the venture support industry.
He is author of the book “Higher Purpose, Higher Profit
— Structuring a Venture for Higher Value”, an award-winning professional
designer, speaker, coach, facilitator and father of two. Keith's love of the
outdoors is expressed through his passion for climbing and mountain
biking.
Ed Hoffman, B.Sc.
Ed is an environmental consultant who also happens to
love taking people out into nature. His vast knowledge of
the wilderness combined with his zest for life and gentle
personality make him eminently qualified to lead many of
our outings. In his spare time he often goes scrambling
up many of the peaks in the Rockies with his friend Ron
Quaife, who happens to be one of our other guides (see
next).
Ron Quaife, M.Sc.
Ron is also an environmental consultant who has spent
much of his time in the arctic working on wilderness
safety and environmental projects. Ron is one of those
people who gets more done in a year than most people do
in a lifetime. He has climbed many of the world's great
peaks, but was unfortunately turned back several times by
weather on the Matterhorn. He is now plotting his next
attempt. Don't let this fool you, however, as Ron gets
great pleasure from introducing you to the wilderness at
whatever pace you're comfortable with.

Our Vision
The management gurus say that every great company
needs a vision, so here's ours:
Mountain Quest contributes to the world by increasing peoples' understanding
and appreciation of each other and the planet we share.
We do this by providing our transformational experiences
to the leading edge corporations that help
shape our society.
Using experiential learning, facilitation and consulting,
we help them work great and achieve great works.
And we didn't have to pay a management guru to come up
with it. (We actually do take our vision statement quite
seriously and measure everything we do against it.)
Reputation
We've developed a reputation for high quality,
reliability and professionalism, balanced with a generous
dose of fun, flexibility and creativity. Just ask our
many happy customers. Check out our testimonials.
Responsibility
We believe in protecting and preserving the wilderness
we love. We practice sustainable techniques to ensure
that the land is in the same or better shape when we
leave.
Since we're enjoying the pristine wilderness, we
believe in giving back to it. We support worthwhile
environmental causes such as research, education and
school programs by donating our money, time and
publicity.
